Claim for Compensation against Police

In a road traffic accident last November, Miss Nicola Sloan, 38 was driving her Toyota Yaris when she was smashed into by a police custody van, driven by Alasdair Sharp a custody officer at St Leonard’s Police station.

After the accident fire-fighters had to cut Miss Sloan from the wreck, she suffered a broken arm and leg in the crash; also she suffered a stroke later in hospital.

The police driver has escaped a road ban for careless driving and was fined £600 and had six points placed on his licence after admitting careless driving at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

Miss Sloan is to raise civil action for compensation against him.
