Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority receive claim for £7,500

Days after falsely making a claim she had been raped, Sarah-Jane Hilliard aged 20, applied for compensation from the CICA (Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority). Hilliard could face a jail term after luring a man into having sex with her and then crying rape in a plot to claim thousands of pounds in compensation.

Hilliard a telesales employee told Essex police she met up with Mr Bowers, at Liquid nightclub in Basildon, in July last year.

Sharing a taxi home with a friend and Mr Bowers according to Hilliard, they stopped at a public toilet next to the railway station where she claimed Mr Bowers came in and attacked her.

Having been arrested and bailed. Police failed to find any CCTV images outside Liquid of the pair. Hilliard’s friend from the taxi confessed that they had been in a nightclub called Colors all night.

The pair both from Basildon could clearly be seen on the CCTV footage kissing and holding hands before leaving the nightclub.

Mr Bowers was told he would not be charged but Hilliard was to be arrested for perverting the course of justice.

Hilliard was found guilty at Basildon Crown Court but sentencing was adjourned to wait for psychiatric reports.
