Road Traffic Accident helicopter airlifts two to Hospital

The A534 Sandbach Road was closed after two vehicles a silver Peugeot 406 and Ford transit van collided.

The incident happened near Congleton Cheshire at around 1.15 on Friday.

The driver of the Peugeot a 71 year old man suffered serious injuries to his legs and his passenger from Crewe a 13 year old male who suffered head injuries in the crash had to be airlifted to Leighton Hospital.

The 28 year old man from Bolton who was driving the transit van is believed to have suffered head and spinal injuries was taken to Macclesfield District Hospital. Police closed the road to carry out thorough investigation.
