A Bedfordshire mother has launched a claim for compensation, after suffering serious injuries in a bus fall.
Forty five year old Lesley Hunter, from Kempston, had just boarded the number one bus with her ten year old daughter and was making her way to the upper deck, when the bus pulled away sharply causing her to fall backwards down the stairs.
The Bedfordshire on Sunday newspaper is reporting that Miss Hunter fractured her pelvis in the incident and has now launched a bus accident compensation claim against bus operators Stagecoach.
Miss Hunter told the newspaper that at the time of her accident she thought she had probably just suffered a nasty bruise but after waking up in agony the next day realised it was something more serious.
Miss Hunter has been on crutches for five weeks and has been told by her doctor that she will have to continue to use them for a further six weeks.
Her legal team are now appealing for witnesses, who were travelling on the bus that day to come forward.
A spokesperson from Stagecoach stated that the company was currently investigating Miss Hunter’s complaint and was reviewing CCTV footage.
