Statistics just released have confirmed what many people have suspected for a long time. Men cause more road traffic accidents in summer due to being distracted by women in skimpy hot weather clothing. This rise in accidents would be coupled too with a rise in compensation claims you would imagine.
A report in The Telegraph newspaper reveals that 29 % of men admit to taking their eyes off the road to look at scantily clad women, especially those in short skirts soaking up the warm summer weather.
This admission seems to be backed up by insurance company records. Sheila’s Wheels insurance reports that last year, men made 16.4% more motor insurance claims during summer than at any other time of the year.
Of course, any such distraction while driving can lead to accidents, whether minor or major. These incidents often result in injury, with whiplash being the most common. It seems then that this phenomenon is bad for the health of British males.
A spokesperson for the insurance company encouraged male motorists to keep their attention on the road at all times, as these statistics prove that a lapse of concentration for any amount of time can have serious consequences.
